Windows Azure SQL Database sharding support for OpenJPA: first public release available

Federations in Windows Azure SQL Database are a way to achieve greater scalability and performance from the database tier of your application through horizontal partitioning. One or more tables within a database are split by row and portioned across multiple databases (Federation members).
This type of horizontal partitioning is often referred to as sharding.

After the 1.0.0-incubating, the first maintenance release is made available by the Apache Syncope team.

Apache Syncope 1.0.0-incubating (Espressivo) released!

After 7 months of work the Apache Syncope team is proud to announce the final release of the first stable version since entering the Apache Incubator.

This release took a bit more than expected because the team had to get familiar with new ASF procedures and toolset; now engines are warmed up and ready for upcoming features.

This release essentially adds bugfixes over features, improvements and bugfixes introduced by the 3 RC former releases.

Controlling Oracle WebLogic 12c with Cargo Maven Plugin 1.2.2

Cargo is a really nice piece of software that comes handy when developing web apps, by enabling deployment on a significant number of JEE containers at a very low price of some configuration parameters.

The current version (1.2.2) has support for Oracle WebLogic up to 10.3.x; however, with some very little modifications it can handle 12c as well.
